Research Methodology Support GAA

Xuyan Tang: xuyan.tang@ubc.ca

Xuyan Tang is a fourth-year PhD candidate in the Measurement, Evaluation, and Research Methodology (MERM) Program at UBC. She holds a Master of Arts in MERM and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Sun Yat-sen University in China. With a strong background in scale development, validation, and quantitative analysis, Xuyan is highly skilled in utilizing statistical software including SPSS, Mplus, and R. She is looking forward to providing assistance with research methodology and statistical software for ECPS graduate students and faculty.

CNPS Peer Advisor

Ria Gupta: cnps.peer@ubc.ca

Ria is currently a Masters of Education student in the Counselling Psychology program at UBC. She completed her B.A. in Psychology at UBC, with a minor in Education. Her interests have led her to pursue a diverse range of opportunities in peer support, research and mental health advocacy. Her interests in counselling are in community agencies, career counselling, art therapy and marriage counselling. She is particularly interested in working with young adults. She is looking forward to contributing to the CNPS graduate student community and the ECPS department.

HDLC Peer Advisor

Xinke Wan: xinke.wan@ubc.ca

Xinke Wan is a PhD student in the program of Human Development, Learning, and Culture (HDLC). Xinke is an international student form China, who has also completed her MA degree in HDLC. As the HDLC peer advisor, Xinke strives to support HDLC students navigating various aspects of graduate school, including coursework, scholarship applications, finding professional development opportunities, and navigating life in Vancouver as an international student.

MERM Peer Advisor

Komalpreet Nandra: nandrakk@mail.ubc.ca

Komal is a second-year Masters student in the Measurement, Evaluation, and Research Methodology program at the University of British Columbia. She holds undergraduate degrees in Mathematics, and Mathematics and Physics Education from the University of Alberta. She is interested in researching high-school math education, provincial level test development, mental health of high-school students, and postpartum depression. Outside of her academic pursuits, Komal enjoys gardening and playing Magic the Gathering.

Hira Peracha is a second year MA student for the School and Applied Child Psychology program at UBC. She completed her Bachelor’s degree with a major in Psychology and a minor in Creative Writing at UBC as well. She is interested in research surrounding Social Emotional Learning and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
